About this Event
This two-part wet felting workshop introduces participants to felting as a tactile, accessible textile practice rooted in material exploration and storytelling. Working at a small scale (approx. 12 x 9 inches), participants will explore texture, layering, and intuitive design—embracing the idea that every felting process is unique.
In Part 1 (May 1st), you’ll learn how to transform loose wool fibres into felt using water, soap, and agitation techniques, experimenting with colour and composition to create your own textile.
In Part 2 (May 8th), you’ll refine your dried piece and transform it into a finished coin purse, learning edge finishing with a serger and adding a closure of your choice.
The workshop begins with a brief contextual introduction to felting, followed by a step-by-step demonstration and guided making time, encouraging both independent and collaborative exploration in a comfortable, accessible environment.
