About this Event
Rob Crosby
Born and raised in Sumter, South Carolina, a small town 80 miles from the coast, Rob has since moved to Nashville. He has scored hits as both a writer and an artist. His number one and top ten songs are: “Concrete Angel” by Martina McBride, “She’s More” by Andy Griggs, “Holdin’ a Good Hand” by Lee Greenwood, “She’s a Natural” by Rob Crosby, “Love Will Bring Her Around” by Rob Crosby, “Burnin’ For You” by Rob Crosby, “Friday Night” by Eric Paslay, “Winter of Love” by Ilse de Lange, “Calm After the Storm” by the Common Linnets.
After obtaining regional success in the Southeast playing clubs and colleges, Rob moved to Nashville and became a staff writer for a small publishing company. Within a few years Lee Greenwood recorded Rob’s song, “Holding a Good Hand” which went to #1 on the country chart, and that same year Rob was signed to Arista Records.
His first three singles reached the top ten and Rob began touring with Travis Tritt, Reba McEntire, Brooks and Dunn, Billy Ray Cyrus and others. Rob has opened shows for Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Restless Heart, Exile, Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt and others, and performed in clubs and festivals throughout the United States, Canada, and eventually Europe, developing a particularly strong following in Holland and Switzerland.
Friday Night, by Eric Paslay, to my list of #1 hits. Also, Warren Zeider had a top 30 hit with our song "Ride the Lightning" last year.
Rob’s duet with Carl Perkins “A Mile Out of Memphis” held the #1 position on the UK-based “Hotdisc” chart for five weeks. While devoting most of his time to writing, Rob continues to perform often.
Matthew Crosby
is an American singer-songwriter from Nashville, Tennessee. Born to a family of musicians, he began writing and playing his own songs at an early age. He eventually made his way to New York City, performing regularly at clubs around Brooklyn and the Lower East Side, and developing a sound centered in American country and folk music –blending the lyricism of Jackson Brown with the stripped-down experimentalism of Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy. Since 2014, Matthew has been a member of multi-platinum selling country Americana band, The Common Linnets, touring across Europe and recording in both Holland and the US.
Matthew and Rob Crosby co-wrote the European #1 "Calm After the Storm" by the Common Linnets. Matthew Crosby and Jack Etheridge wrote the series-ending song for the TV show "Nashville"
His debut solo EP, “Take Only What You Can Carry In Your Hands” was released in April 2016. The follow-up release is set for the spring of 2018.
