About this Event
The project will transform 11.76 miles of streets in the heart of South Los Angeles with a focus on 4.5 miles of pedestrian and transit rider improvements on the Western Avenue corridor from Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd to the north, intersecting the 10-mile east-west Metro Rail-to-Rail Active Transportation Corridor at Slauson Avenue and continuing south to Century Blvd. Adjacent local streets, Denker Avenue, two blocks to the east, and Gramercy Avenue, two blocks to the west, will be transformed into critically needed neighborhood bike network streets with traffic calming.
As we move further along in the design phase, the City is hosting community workshops to share key project updates and anticipated impacts, and receive key community input and questions.
This workshop will start with a presentation from the project team, followed by a Q&A session and time for attendees to provide input through interactive boards and discussions with staff.
You’re the expert in your neighborhood, and we hope to see you there!
