Across the United States, United Women in Faith Jurisdiction teams creatively aspired to name a theme and select a bible verse for our events. After much thought, prayer and discussion, the above John 13:34 verse was identified as being just right for this time, this season, this event of "Getting Together" in May 2024.
Jesus is going somewhere we cannot go, and plans for us to recognize our discipleship by our love for one another. We believe these words emphasize how our United Women in Faith sisterhood, our fellowship, our advocacy and repair work, and our relational love enables us to explore the commandment to love one another. When is this easy? When is it hard? As we spend our special days together, gathering for the main purpose of electing our Board of Directors representatives from the Western Jurisdiction, we will consider this biblical directive and how we apply it to our lives.
Our Western Jurisdiction Event will be full of opportunities to mentor and be mentored, to discuss the rights and values of people of all races, to sing, pray, meditate and create, fellowship over meals, and meet new friends and greet old friends.
