Singers and music lovers! You are welcome to West Vocal Jam - a new event created to support vocalists in an encouraging environment. We have a provided backing band to play for you.
You are invited to Mississauga for our 2nd West Vocal Jam featuring award-winning (Mississauga raised) vocalist Shannon Butcher. This is a special event celebrating Mississauga’s 50th Anniversary!
Join us Monday, June 17th at 7pm at the The Port House Social Bar & Kitchen in Port Credit (formerly Ten Wine Bar).
Due to demand, singers are advised to email [email protected] to pre-register in order to have a guaranteed performance spot.
ALL ATTENDEES are welcome to pay-what-you-can in lieu of a cover charge. Suggested donation of $10.

- House Band: Jazz pianist Peter Hill on keys with Pat Collins on acoustic bass
- Bring 2 lead sheets and the band will take it away!
- Please note - no sheet music or multiple pages.
- COVID protocols: we will change our microphone coverings between each singer and sanitize.

- We are a 5 minute walk from the Port Credit GO Train Station and there is free parking available.
- We are an 18 minute drive from downtown Toronto (when there’s no traffic).

Shannon Butcher is an acclaimed Canadian singer, songwriter, arranger and record producer. She charms audiences with her joyful wit and warm energy. Shannon’s original songs reveal the breadth of her influences, from the sounds of Big Band music halls to Yorkville folk coffee houses. As an arranger, she interprets chart topping pop songs with a fresh and exciting jazz perspective.
Shannon is proud to be an established part of the Toronto jazz community both as a performer and educator. She has been in a fixture in major festivals in Ontario, toured across Canada, and performed across The United States and in England.
Shannon has released five albums under her own label Summer Bloom Records, her first album earning an iTunes’ Best New Jazz Artist of the Year award. Her songs are in high rotation on CBC and JazzFM.91 and can be heard on radio stations across the world.
As a teacher Shannon has worked with students in the jazz programs at Humber College, Mohawk College and in her private studio. She has lead master classes and workshops for youth and adults all over Ontario developing participants’ skills and confidence in performance as well as their overall appreciation of jazz.
