Two days dedicated to West Papua Solidarity right here in Tāmaki Makaurau. With 2 days of speeches, discussion, and workshops featuring activists from West Papua. An unprecedented opportunity to find out what is happening in West Papua right now.
Day One
Old Choral Hall, 7 Symonds Street, Auckland.
Saturday March 7 2026
The day's focus will be on updates from West Papua, with keynote speeches, panels and discussion. Themes will include updates on military occupation, colonial expansion, environmental issues, community organising and human rights abuses.
Speakers include Victor Yeimo, Dorthea Wabiser, Victor Mambor, Ronny Kareni and Kerry Tabuni all of West Papua as well as Aotearoa indigenous and human rights activists, academics and allies Hilda Halkyard Harawira, Emalani Case, Nathan Rew, Arama Rata, David Robie, Maire Leadbeater, Teanau Tuiono and Te Aniwaniwa Paterson.

An opportunity for students, community groups, media, unions, academics and activists to learn more about West Papua and the current regional and political context.
We are also delighted to be able to host the Jubi Media West Papua mini film-fest which will take place over the weekend - more details coming soon!

This event is free however koha is most welcome and helps us to cover the cost of travel for our speakers, kai for all attendees over the two days and all the usual expenses involved in hosting a 2 day event.
