About this Event
We are delighted to confirm that this regional UKABIF seminar and networking event will include presentations focusing on the world of Neurorehabilitation to support the recovery for those affected by an Acquired Brain Injury.
Our thanks to Irwin Mitchell for being our fabulous hosts for this event. Parking is not on site but parking is available near by at Birmingham Snow Hill Livery St, Birmingham B3 2BJ
Speakers include:
Emma Rush - Partner IM LLP. Her topic titled 'Overcoming Obstacles’ will focus on the work Emma does to support those post catestrophic injury. Emma works "exclusively on behalf of claimants in medical negligence cases, helping people bring claims against NHS Trusts, GPs and private practitioners and has a varied caseload including cases involving amputations, spinal injury and brain injury."
Sheri Taylor (dietician) at Specialist Nutrition Rehab. Sheri set up Specialist Nutrition Rehab in 2016, to help people with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries and orthopaedic injuries maximise their health while eating foods that they love. Sheri has over 25 years of community-based experience working as a dietitian in the UK and Canada, and has helped hundreds of clients achieve their goals.
Richard Langton Secretary of Birmingham & Solihull Headway & Becky Wenham - their head of services will present a session about Headway’s support for Midlands based people with an ABI.
Chloe Hayward - UKABIF Chloe is the Executive Director of the United Kingdom Acquired Brain Injury Forum. Chloe helped to reinstate the All-Party Parliamentary Group in 2017 and has since worked closely with the Chair and members of the group to use every opportunity to raise awareness of acquired brain injury in Westminster. She also oversees special interest groups in criminal justice and education and works with the Community Rehabilitation Alliance and the Neurological Alliance on joint issues to improve access to services for people with acquired brain injuries.
A small raffle will be held in aid of UKABIF - so bring your wallet/purse!!
All this and an opportunity to network with individuals across a wide range of disciplines and pathways - this is an ideal opportunity to tell people what you do, share best practice and build contacts as well as hear great speakers. Light refreshments available.
All this for free - yes I know its amazing.. but what we would ideally like you to do is register as a member of UKABIF. A national charity which believes that by bringing together all parties with an interest in ABI we have a stronger voice. https://ukabif.org.uk/general/pick_username.asp
A plea from the organisers....if you book to come then wonderful we look forward to seeing you on the 27th November. If you find after booking you can't come please let us know so we can prepare accordingly and let others attend. We have limited places for each event so it would be really helpful if you let us know that you can't come - or better still ....just come anyway!!!! Thank you.
