West London Teacher Training Alliance(WLTTA) Trainee Induction Day 2024

Every year we run an important induction evening before the end of the summer term for all our new trainees and we are delighted that the same event will occur this year.

This is an important session that all trainees from both Primary and Secondary (both salaried and unsalaried) are expected to attend, but please be reassured that it will be informal and we hope enjoyable.

The session will address a range of important issues to help prepare you for the year ahead - it is also a lovely opportunity for you to meet your fellow trainees before September.

We will briefly explore the values of the WLTTA and hear a couple of stories that we hope will inspire your teaching journey.

You will be given an overview of the year, including the process of assessment, arrangements for placements in different schools and the structure of support from the Alliance and the relationship between the trainees, the universities and partner schools.

We will discuss the Teachers’ Standards; value systems; professionalism (including your own social media); and who to contact if you need further help or advice during the training year. We also hope to be able to circulate and discuss timetables (subject to their availability from the universities).
