About this Event
Diwali—also known as the Festival of Lights—is one of the most important and widely celebrated holidays in India and among South Asian communities worldwide. It is a time to honour the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance.
At Gordon Neighbourhood House, we’re proud to host a community celebration that brings this spirit to life through music, dancing, food, and shared experience.
Our space will be transformed with glowing lights, colourful decorations, and the uplifting sounds of kirtan chanting—a meditative and joyful musical tradition that invites reflection and unity. The evening will also feature a dance performance by Vidya, delicious vegetarian food, and a sparkler display to close the night.
This celebration is open to everyone—whether you’ve celebrated Diwali before or are joining for the first time. Come light up the neighbourhood with us!
