All Levels West Coast Swing Performance Team
When: Friday nights from 7:30pm - 8:45pm (excluding the first Friday of each month)
May 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st
June 14th, 21st, 28th
July 12th, 19th, 26th
August 9th
Where: Colorado Dancesport Ballroom (5120 S Lowell Blvd, Littleton, CO 80123)
Who: All dance levels are welcome and needed to bring their routine to life.
Instructors: Jonathan Prichard, Elizabeth Spann, & Lila Ferguson
Cost: $60 up front (+$2.00 credit card fee). Due by May 10th (Register: https://square.link/u/q8W40Wtf). Includes access to other Friday night events by Denver Westies at Colorado Dancesport
Performance: August 17th, 2024 at SwingTime (https://swingtimewcs.com/), pending SwingTime approval
Starting May 10th, 2024 we will begin an All-Levels West Coast Swing performance team. The performance team will learn a routine, choreographed by the amazing All-Star dancers Jonathan Prichard and Elizabeth Spann. Learning choreography is a great opportunity to really cement West Coast Swing moves, patterns, and technique into muscle memory and is a great way to quickly accelerate your dancing level. The team will be taught by Jonathan Prichard, Elizabeth Spann, & Lila Ferguson.
The team practices will be held at Colorado Dancesport Ballroom on Friday nights from 7:30 pm - 8:45 pm and will run from May 10th to August 9th.
The goal is to perform the routine at local dance venues and at Denver’s largest National West Coast Swing event, ‘SwingTime’ on Saturday August 17th, 2024. You do not have to perform the routine if you do not wish to, as some people enjoy learning a routine to improve their dancing, but don’t enjoy performing in front of large groups. The choice is yours.
The cost will require an upfront payment of $60 dollars (+$2.00 credit card fee), due by May 10th, 2024. This is to encourage everyone to commit to the entire session of practices as it is very difficult to manage choreography without a consistent team and dancers. This will also cover the entrance to any Denver Westies event happening that same Friday at Colorado Dancesport (Lessons, Practice, Dance, etc.) Again, this is a great way to accelerate your dancing level, make great friends, and have lots of fun!

Can I participate if I can’t attend every week?
Yes, the instructors will provide a video recap of what was covered that week. You can practice what you missed on your own and catch right up.
Can I participate if I am very new to West Coast Swing?
Yes, the routine is designed to be challenging, but learnable by all levels.
Can I participate if I don’t have a partner?
Yes, we will be rotating partners during classes for the first several weeks. Once we get closer to the performance dates, we will identify who wants to do the performance and match up partners.
Can I choose my partner?
Yes, we will ask you to rotate partners in the first weeks of practice. As we get closer to the final performance, we will spend more time working with our chosen or assigned partners.
