The West Coast Blues Society was created to perpetuate Blues, Jazz and Gospel as an Art form indigenous to America. Our programs pay close attention to West Coast Blues, Jazz and Gospel, music.
It's origins it's music styles and its audience the West Coast Blues and Jazz sound, Is famous all over the world for its unique sound , we present, Lectures Career Goal Seminars, with guess speakers from the industry of music. We also have a Blues in the Schools program, we've presented West Coast Blues Hall of Fame and Awards Shows, in which Yoshi's have received honors for its programming !!!
The West Coast Blues Society also have produced festivals, Concert series, Blues Walk historical walk of 7th Street, also documentaries Revolutionary Oakland Blues. The Music They Played on 7th Street documentary still in production. And CDs
The Music They Played on 7th Street CD, volume one and volume two, also the CD Songs of Russell City volume 1.
This fundraising concert is our fundraising efforts to replace one of our most notable projects, The Music They Played on 7th Street Oakland Walk of Fame
The Blues Walk of Fame honors all of the late great and current entertainers, club owners, record company owners, all industry types who made 7th Street West Oakland, California the most famous entertainment district on the West Coast out striding, Los Angeles ,CA .and Seattle Washington 7th Street is sometimes referred to as the Harlem of the West Coast.
The Blues Walk of Fame plaques 40 of them we're picked and pulled up out of the ground and sold to scrap metal companies great Legends like Duke Ellington. The Rock group, Green Day , and a host of other notable artists who performed on 7th Street were stolen. The replacement cost including labor is $150,000 this fundraiser hopefully we'll get us closer to our goal of 150,000.

This fundraising concert will showcase some of Oakland's and Bay areas greatest entertainers !!!!!
The exciting soulful and raw talent the Oakland Blues Divas, will take the stage 4 ladies who bring it just like Oakland is famous for, super and outstanding talent.
Alvon Johnson who has over five CDs on the market who formally played with the legendary coasters who is famous for his shows who have the crowd on their feet.
And is one of the most outstanding guitar players in all of the United States.
JC Smith brings you the true 1940s 1950s jump Blues the Louis Jordan style jump Blues that JC Smith brings to the stage with his amazing 50's style guitar playing he's also is a DJ, been on the radio for 40 years KKUP, Cupertino and currently just finished a big movie he's a household word in the San Jose and Northern California jump Blues market.
Mississippi Chuck Wallace, he was in the Bruce Willis, yes, the actor, he was in the Bruce Willis Blues Band for over 10 years and was given the best. Blues singer in Germany award, he is the real Blues Man.
Eli The Chief Albert, is an American Indian from a reservation in New Mexico, and he brings the blues of Chicago his style of singing is Chicago style of Blues he is loved by all his fans because he brings that Chicago feel to the West Coast
Karl Mr R&B Bracy, if you're into Al Green, or The Spinners or the late great Jackie Wilson then this is the singer you need to see, when you say crowd pleaser when you say you just want to dance when you say you hear that, soulful voice that's R&B then you know you're listening to Mr. R&B Karl Bracy just get ready !!!!!!!
Michael Skinner, Blues and R&B vocalist who's traveled with the late great Jimmy McCracklin , Chick Willis world tour with Johnny Hooker Jr and Drummer extraordinaire, so much talent he's from a family of singers and musicians and he knows how to bring it.
Reggie Rolls R&B crooner raised in Germany military brat, he's an African American that can sing any song in German language he also is a drummer and a keyboard player and have recorded three CDs if you like the roughness of Wilson Pickett, or David Ruffin of The Temptations this is your man !!!!
The Legendary Fillmore Slim has one of the most interesting careers in the Blues industry !!! His music career spans well over 70 years he's 90 plus years young and has lived a life of a musician and a hustler and you name it, and this is why his show is always anticipated.
Fillmore's fan base covers Blues ,R&B, RAP Hip Hop he has fans of all genres of the music industry. Fillmore has over 15 CDs on the market he has travel all over the world even doing a command performance for the Queen of England, last year he had a Grammy nominated CD , he is a prolific songwriter , a very decent guitar player and one of the best dressed blues artists you can find, his. Show covers the whole Blues map and R&B you never know what's going to come out of his mouth you never know what he going to tell the band to play !!! He always rocks the house no matter what get ready for an exciting show.

Has traveled throughout the United States and the world playing Oakland Style a West Coast style Blues R&B and Jazz the group has covered major festivals in California and the United States and have backed up some of the legendary artists such as Lowell Folsom, Charles Brown, Guitar Shorty. Etta James, Mary Wells, Martha Reed of Martha Reed and the Vandellas, Sugar Pie de Santo, Big Mama Thornton, Bobby Rush, Bobby Day, and the list is too numerous to write.
