West African djembe drumming class every Tuesday evening.Learn to play the West African djembe drum at our fun and friendly weekly classes!
6.30-7.30pm - Beginners:
A great introduction to African drumming! Learn basic djembe drumming techniques and traditional West African rhythms in a fun and relaxed environment. Suitable for total beginners.
7.30 - 9.30pm - Intermediate/Advanced
This class is great for intermediate and advanced players. Participants have the opportunity to learn both djembe and dun-dun drums. Study the accompaniments, signals, bass lines, arranged breaks, solo material, and traditional West African songs.
Beginners class: £6 (£5 concession)
Main class: £8 (£7 Concession)
Both classes: £10 (£9 Concession)
+ £1 drum hire (or bring your own) - please get in touch with us before the class if you need to hire a drum
No need to book. Just turn up.
Payment is by CASH ONLY at the class.
The Union Chapel has a small car park and there is also on-street parking.
We always have a break in the middle of the main workshop. Tea, coffee, and biscuits will be provided at no extra cost.
