About this Event
Wesley Stace, the man formerly known as John Wesley Harding, presents his fall USA tour "Alone (and Together)," for which he will play songs from throughout his storied career, precisely as nature intended: on his own, in his own time, on his own dime. One Man, one guitar, one voice, one harmonica, occasional whistling. He welcomes all your requests, in advance, by email. (WARNING: the occasional friend may undermine this singular concept.)
His major label debut as John Wesley Harding in the early 1990s, "Here Comes the Groom," featured members of The Attractions, Elvis Costello's band, and earned critical raves. He went on to release "The Name Above the Title" and "Why We Fight."
In 1995, Bruce Springsteen chose him as an opener for solo shows.
He continued to release albums as John Wesley Harding and later under his real name, Wesley Stace. He's also curated "Cabinet of Wonders," a live variety show featuring everyone from Rosanne Cash and Josh Ritter to Kristin Hersh and Janeane Garofolo.
Doors at 7. Music at 8.
Seating is limited. For those who have not been to Vessel Craft, the sight lines are good and close and Jim P. had it sounding great this spring. There will be drinks and snacks for sale.
Listen:
"Here Comes the Groom"
"The Rose and the Briar"
"Wreck on the Highway"
"We Will Always Have New York"
"The Devil in Me"
