About this Event

P&T Knitwear is pleased to welcome Wesley Brown to celebrate and discuss his new book ; a re-imagining of the life of Frank Wills reconciles the greatest heist of all—our place in the American story.

Wesley will be joined in conversation by Charles H. Lynch. Along with a discussion and audience Q&A, Wesley will also sign copies of his book.

Doors open at 6:30pm with the talk starting closer to 7pm. Come early and grab a drink from the !

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Wesley Brown is the author of three novels, a collection of short stories, a novella, and five plays. He is professor emeritus in English at Rutgers University and a former visiting professor in the Arts Division at Bard College at Simon’s Rock. He wrote the narration for a segment of the 1997 PBS documentary W.E.B. Du Bois: A Biography in Four Voices, has held visiting writer residencies in creative writing at the University of Minnesota, New York University, Bennington College, and Sarah Lawrence College, and is co-editor of The Methuen Drama Anthology of American Women Playwrights: 1970–2020. A new edition of his first novel, Tragic Magic, was published, as a part of the Of the Diaspora series, by McSweeney’s in 2021. He lives in Lawrenceville, Georgia.

ABOUT THE MODERATOR
Charles H. Lynch, retired as a professor of English from New Jersey City University.He lives in Brooklyn, New York; is a Cave Canem Fellow; and his doctoral dissertationat New York University explored the lives and poetry of Robert Hayden and GwendolynBrooks. A recently completed novel, Hawker of Rough-Edged Silhouettes, is basedupon challenges at age fifteen living between Baltimore, Maryland, and West Cape May,New Jersey. His poetry has been published in anthologies and in literary journalssuch as The RavensPerch, POSTSCRIPT Magazine, TERRAIN.org, Black AmericanLiterature Forum, Colossus: Current!, Obsidian, and PLUCK!: A Journal of Afrilachian Arts & Culture.

  • Doors open at 6:30pm, with the talk starting around 7:00pm.
  • Books will be available for purchase at the event.
  • Cost of a book bundle ticket reflects the total cost of the feature event book (MSRP plus tax). Each book bundle ticket guarantees ticket holders one (1) copy of the feature event book.
  • The talk will be followed by a book signing. Books signed at P&T Knitwear events must be purchased from P&T Knitwear.
