Wesley and The Crushers
"Goo on guitar… Pete on the drums… Phizz on the vocals… And Big Wes on the bass… That’s right, it’s Wesley and The Crushers: The band that rocked all over Canberra and brought you many beloved albums from The Bite Album (2014) to Megafaunication (2023). They’ve played in some of Canberra’s most iconic venues, and now they’ll be playing a triumphant reunion performance, returning to the stage with no definite plans for the future except to rock your world once again. The Ned Branchi Band
The “Femur” EP is Ned Branchi’s 7th Studio album, written as a reflexive panacea whilst in hospital healing from massive trauma. The songs are dark, humorous and heavy. A journey through the liminal states of hospitals, altered states, desolate beauty and loss. Branchi is a Singer, Songwriter, Indie Progressive Art Rock Musician from Melbourne. A founding member of "Bigger Than Jesus" (1989-91) and "Spoon" (Australia). 1995-2000. Also an Ethnomusicologist Branchi was beginning his 4th album in Java working with traditional Gamelan musicians when a Motorcycle crash led to an amputation of his right leg at the knee and he was left with %25 range of movement in the right arm. During the long period of recovery, over many operations, Branchi composed the "Femur" album. A cathartic discussion about healing and hospitals as Liminal Spaces where we all traverse the most fundamental “Rites Of Passage”, from Birth to Death and every fissure of our physical bodies in between. The album is dark, confronting but with a stylistically black humour. More info at www.nedbranchiband.com
