WeShine turns 5: Come Celebrate Growth, Community and What's Next!

Five years ago, WeShine started with a dream. Then in 2022 we opened our first tiny home micro-village in Portland with a simple but powerful belief: that everyone deserves a safe, dignified place while they transition to permanent housing. Today, we have three villages — and a community of partners, neighbors, and advocates who made it all possible.

Join us on May 15th from 4:00–7:00pm at Westminster Presbyterian Church to celebrate five years of impact, reflect on the journey, and look ahead to what's coming next. This is an evening for the people who have shown up for this work — and for anyone who believes Portland can do better for its unhoused neighbors.

The evening will include light snacks, cake, and refreshments, a look back at how we've grown from one village to three, a conversation about where WeShine is headed, a chance to honor the community partners and volunteers who have been part of this story, and video installations featuring the voices and lives at the heart of our mission. We will have a panel of speakers including current villagers, past villagers and staff.

This is not a gala — it's a gathering. Come ready to connect, be inspired, and help us write the next chapter. And if you feel moved to give WeShine a birthday present or two, we'll have a few meaningful ways to do just that. 🎂
