The internet is awash with wellness trends, from hormone hacking to vitamin drips to whatever Gwyneth’s currently putting on or in (or up) her body. We’re bringing in myth-busting maestro Wendy Zukerman, host of the global hit podcast Science Vs, to help us wade through the murky claims and perhaps even unearth a few evidence-based practices. Then we’ll try out a trend that actually checks out with scientist and wellness teacher Dr Rebecca Chabot, who will guide us through some quick and effective breathing techniques for fine-tuning your focus, staying awake in the face of extreme boredom, and achieving blissful relaxation. We’ll round out the session with a fascinating conversation on Adult ADHD with The Guardian’s Matilda Boseley (author of “The Year I Met My Brain”) and award-winning science journalist Zoe Kean.
About the Main Stage Sessions
We’re transforming City Hall into a vibrant, interactive den of cerebral delights. Imagine listening in on fascinating chats amongst brilliant scientists while putting your feet up in a friend’s lounge room, which is also a cabaret theatre with two well stocked bars in it. Each session offers a mix of presentations, interactive stuff, really short talks, live music by our incredible house band Stevie and the Bunsen Burners, and all sorts of surprises. You can sneak off for a drink any time, and even come and go during the session, but surely you won’t want to miss a minute of the action.
