On 29th October 1892 Wendy Wood was born. Wendy was one of Scotlands Greatest Patriots & she fought all her life for Scottish Independence even going to jail for her belief.
She was one of the cofounders of The National Party that merged with The Scottish Party to become the Scottish National Party.
After becoming disillusioned with Political Parties ( I can understand that ) Wendy founded the Scottish Patriots which survived until the day she died. At The 1932 Bannockburn Rally she led a group of Scottish Patriots up to the ramparts of Stirling castle & removed the IMPERIAL RAG replacing it with a large LION RAMPANT. Wendy campaigned all the time for Scotlands Independence & never gave up. She also appeared in the BBC programme Jackanory in the 1970s. At one time she even went on hunger strike for the cause. Wendy Wood if only we had people like her now SCOTLAND would be a much better place. Please remember Wendy today sadly missed. See less
