Welser-Möst Conducts Strauss | Summers at Severance

Marking 25 years as Music Director of The Cleveland Orchestra, Franz Welser-Möst leads a rousing program of music spanning a century and a half. The expansive opening of Wagner’s Die Meistersinger gives way to the propulsive soundscapes of Bernd Richard Deutsch’s Intensity. The evening closes with Richard Strauss’s Symphonia domestica, an intimate portrait of the composer’s family life, from the mundane to the passionate to the playful.
