About this Event
Amid the spectacular growth of the science of medicine and the amazing treatments now available, we tend to forget an important part of health care: “Food is Medicine!” Two experts from the Michigan State University Extension Community Nutrition Program will help us understand this in practical, everyday terms. Be ready for Gigi and Lexie as they engage the audience in a fast-paced interactive presentation that will be highly informative and focused on the everyday concerns of families.
Gigi is a Michigan State University Extension Community Nutrition Instructor located in Wayne County, Michigan. Working on the EFNEP grant, her focus is on families (those feeding children), pregnant mothers, and youth providing education concerning eating healthy on a budget and physical activity.
Lexie is a Michigan State University Extension Community Nutrition Instructor located in Wayne County, Michigan. Working on the SNAP-Ed grant, her focusing on providing nutrition education to all those eligible for SNAP benefits. Her specialties include physical activity, basic nutrition information and growth.
