Unwind and connect with nature with our Wellness Walks series, hosted by Shirley Heinze Land Trust, Purdue University Nutrition Education Program, and Community Healthcare System. Held on the 10th of each month, these FREE Wellness Walks will take place in various Shirley Heine nature preserves throughout Northwest Indiana and will focus on a variety of conservation, physical activity and health related topics from our partners.July’s Wellness Walk will take place at Gordon & Faith Greiner Nature Preserve on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at 10:00 am CT.
This walk will take you on a tour of the diverse natural communities that make northwestern Indiana so special: open sandy dune, oak savanna, fen, wet woods, swamp, prairie. This event features a casual stroll through the woods, with opportunities to chat with healthcare professionals while learning about the local ecosystem. Our hike leaders will also demonstrate how spending time outside benefits your health.

Trail length: 0.86 mile
Terrain: mostly flat, some narrow boardwalks
We recommend to bring sturdy shoes and a water bottle.
