On June 1, the two French Routes - one from Paris, the other from the south, the extension arm from Finisterre - of the Peacewalk are joining in Lausanne. This marks the crossing of Switzerland. From west to east, through villages, cities, traditional spiritual places, from the valleys to the mountains, feel welcome to join this part of the Peacewalk, mostly along the longest Peacewalk of the world: the Jerusalem Way.In the heart of Europe, the neutral Switzerland has a tradition for international mediation or overcoming language and cultural barriers. With four national languages, the UN headquarters in Geneva, the International Olympic Committee in Lausanne, and the birthplace of Henry Dunant, the founder of the Red Cross, Switzerland has a long tradition of international diplomacy. Swiss people may sometimes be a little headstrong, due to their deep connectedness to their values and the beauty of the nature, but they have their hearts in the right place.
On June 1st, the pilgrims from both routes will meet for a shared meal.
At 8:00 PM, a public ceremony with blessings and singing will take place in
the park Denantou, at the Thai Pavilion.

On June 25th, we will hand over the staff to the Austrian team at the Rhine, the natural border with Austria. Johannes Aschauer, the founder of the Jerusalem Way, will be present at the ceremony and celebrate the 14th anniversary of the Jerusalem Way, the path that guides the Peacewalk.
From there the Peacewalk leads to Linz, Budapest, Sarajevo, Istanbul, Amman, and Jericho all the way to Al-Quds / Jerusalem.
You can walk with us for a day, a week or a month on the walk— or simply join the ceremony and the beginning of the Switzerland Route of the Peacewalk in Lausanne.
