About this Event
Welcome Poets Community Screening Premiere with PBS Wisconsin
Join us at the Hoard Historical Museum for special community screenings of Welcome Poets! This film follows former Wisconsin Poet Laureate Nicholas Gulig in a reflective homecoming, interwoven with the life and work of Fort Atkinson’s own Lorine Niedecker (1903–1970). Through landscapes, memory, and poetry, Welcome Poets explores identity, place, and the power of poetry to give voice to community.
After each screening, stay for a brief Q&A and connect with fellow poetry lovers and neighbors. We look forward to seeing you there!
The first screening will start promptly at 5 p.m. followed by a second screening at 7 p.m.
Please RSVP for the screening you plan to attend - seating is limited. Please click the orange "Check Availability" button to select the screening you plan to attend along with the number of tickets you would like to reserve.
The Hoard Historical Museum has limited off-street parking but amble street parking.
Funding for Welcome Poets is provided by the Fort Atkinson Community Foundation, Peter and Connie Roop, the Focus Fund forthe Arts and Friends of PBS Wisconsin.
