Have you recently arrived in Edinburgh as a student of South Asian origin and are interested in learning more about academic (and other) life in the city?

Are you a relatively experienced student hoping to make fellow South Asian student networks across higher education institutions and fields?

You have come to the right place!

“Welcome Edinburgh” is an orientation and networking event organised for this very purpose. lt includes talks by students and other stakeholders about key issues you need to think about, ranging from the UK's academic culture (why you're unlikely ever again to get 98%!), visa and accommodation issues, food and the availability of key ingredients if you want to cook for yourselves, and how to stay warm, dry and cheerful through the long dark winter. This is also a perfect chance to meet up with others who know more about where you're from and what they've picked up from South Asian films.

Refreshments are organised for all participants.
