There is always something new to discover at NHM! Join us for a fun-filled day celebrating all the new and exciting things the Museum has to offer. Check out our newest display: a rare deep-sea angler fish, known as the Pacific footballfish.
See traditional Japanese printing technique called gyotaku, and create a gyotaku fish print of your own, with artist Dwight Hwang. Step inside the Ocean Experience trailer, one of our Mobile Museums— for a simulated deep sea exploration of our local coastline.
We’ll also be celebrating Filipino American History Month with the launch of the new Filipino virtual tour of our Dinosaur Hall, and a new oral histories project, Culture of Care: Perspectives from the Filipino Healthcare Community, co-presented by FilAm ARTS. Catch performances from the Pakaraguian Kulintang Ensemble. Plus, chat with museum staff, who will be sharing artifacts and specimens from behind the scenes of our Anthropology and Ichthyology (or fish!) collections.
