WeirDass Back in Austin

Amoeba and ColdTowne are teaming up to bring Austin comedy fans a rare opportunity to catch an unrepeatable performance from two improv legends.

WeirDass, the husband and wife team of Bob Dassie and Stephnie Weir, are well known within the improv world for their dynamic, detailed and hilarious performances. Together they’ve performed at some of the top improv venues in the world, including the venerable IO in both Chicago and Los Angeles, and UCB. Their titular improv form "The WeirDass" has become a standard that is taught by instructors around the country.

WeirDass is Stephnie Weir and Robert Dassie, a husband-and-wife duo who use their shared experiences to inspire scenes, duologues, and random asides in their long-form improvisation. They have been improvising together for over 25 years performing in cities across the states, Canada, and the U.K. They are excited to be back in Austin performing in Stephnie’s home state of Texas.

Stephnie Weir is an alumni of the legendary Second City and was a cast member on MADtv from 2000-2006, and Bob Dassie worked with the Improv Olympics, performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with Baby Wants Candy (a fully improvised musical) along with 30 Rock’s Jack McBrayer and can be seen on HBO’s “Funny or Die Presents…” starring in “Carpet Bros.” along with Tim Meadows, David Spade and Will Farrell. Needless to say, both collectively and individually, these two have extremely impressive comedy backgrounds.
