Weird & Wonderful Grapes

A really fun wine tasting trying some lesser-known grape varietals such as Mauzac or Alicante Bouchet!

Sure, we all love a solid Riesling or a good Cabernet Sauvignon - but have you ever tried Folle Blanche? Or Baga?

Let's widen our horizon together and taste some single varietal wines that are sure to surprise your tastebuds. We will open 5 special bottles from different countries and discover the specific character of each varietal together, learning how to describe the aromas and sensations we find in the glass at the same time. This definitely won't help you recognize wines on the list next time you're at a restaurant, but it's sure to be an interesting one!

This is a great event for anyone who has an interest in wine and would like to better understand wine, titillate their tastebuds with something new, or just discover some of the more unique wines available in our shop. The workshop is intended for complete beginners and intermediate alike, and requires no other pre-requisite than curiosity and a thirst for wine!

The ticket includes:

- 5 glasses of wine (white / red)

- Food catering (apéro, vegetarian or vegan on request. Please inform us in advance of allergies) / water

Attendance is limited to 12 people . Tickets are fully refundable up to 48 hours prior to the event, and partially up until 24 hours before.

About your workshop instructor: My name is Anaïs and I am the owner and sommelière at Pépites, the new neighbourhood wine shop on Stargarder Strasse. I come from the Michelin gastronomy world and was previously the lead sommelière at Restaurant Bricole in Berlin. I am a passionate lifelong learner with a past in tech, events and even cheesemongering, and my areas of specialty include France, Portugal and Germany. I have roots in Paris, as well as the beautiful regions of Bordeaux and La Rochelle, so I am an Atlantic coast lover through and through!
