About this Event
Commemorate National prostate cancer awareness month with the Weill Cornell Medicine for the Prostate Cancer Peer Education Program. This is a community-based cancer education program designed to increaseawareness of prostate cancer, promote early detection, and offer personalized 1:1 coaching around prostate cancer screening, especially to underserved and high-risk groups such as Black men in Brooklyn.
We'll cover topics such as:
- The impact of prostate cancer in our communities
- Causes of cancer
- Basic information about the prostate, symptoms of prostate issues
- Who is most at risk for prostate cancer and what they should do
- Importance of early detection with prostate cancer screening and talking through common fears around it
- How our team can help community members like you get screened
Registrations are not required. Walk-ins are welcome.
