Create a set of three cotton dish towels using stripes, color blocks, and weft floats to create visual interest and a unique pattern. Continue mastering the use of pick-up sticks as well as learning about string heddles and heddle rods. This class will go from warping the loom to sewing rolled hems resulting in a trio of beautiful towels!
Workshops will be led by Sara Goldenberg White, who has taught weaving along the Front Range for over a decade. Her passion for weaving and teaching started during her graduate study at Colorado State University. She teaches a variety of fiber techniques but sharing her love of weaving with others is one of her greatest joys. Sara coauthored Simple Woven Garments: 20+ Projects to Weave and Wear with Jane Patrick. Sara also has a lively fine arts practice and has exhibited her work at museums and galleries throughout the country. Sara enjoys the balance of creating her work and sharing her love of weaving in the classroom. She looks forward to seeing you there!
Prior rigid heddle weaving experience is required and all materials will be provided.
This workshop will have a 5-person minimum - and 8-person maximum and will break for lunch.
The yarn is included in the kit fee and the looms will be provided without charge by Schacht Spindle Company. Looms can be taken home during the session to complete your project.
