Weekly EDGU Lessons: Evolutionary Spinal Maintenance

EDGU (edge-you) is Evolutionary Spinal Maintenance.

Grounded in an open, stable stance that specifically isolates all motion to the spine, the upper body is gracefully gyrated through a fluid sequence of pivotal movements. This art of rhythmic spinal tuning systematically exercisesthe intervertebral disks to avoid disk degeneration by maintaining their inherent strength, pliability and absorbency.

EDGU balances the left and right hemispheres of the body/brain, releases mal-aligned vertebrae, and liberatescompensation patterns held in the body.EDGU creates a “wholly” experience, blending body movement with spiritual invocation.

In today’s fast-paced world, our lives have increasingly shifted towards sedentary activities. Whether it’s sitting at a desk forhours, scrolling through our phones, or lounging on the couch, many of us spend the majority of our days immobile. Thislifestyle, while convenient, has significant repercussions for our bodies, particularly our backs. As we sit, our spines aresubjected to unnatural positions, leading to poor posture and weakened muscles. Over time, the supporting structures of thespine—ligaments, discs, and muscles—begin to deteriorate. This deterioration often manifests as chronic pain, a silentepidemic affecting millions. For many, discomfort becomes a constant companion, leading to a cycle of pain, decreasedactivity, and further physical decline. EDGU is a highly effective method of stretching that provides us with a way to improve and possibly reverse the damage that has been done.

Starting on October 12th, Regan Luilthly will be back at the Owl’s Nest every Saturday morning for a comprehensive session of EDGU teaching us how to incorporate it into our daily lives for maximum benefit. Spaces are limited so reserve early.
