About this Event

PHonk!Philly Brazilian Cultural Music & Dance Programming

PHonk!Philly will produce free Brazilian community dance & drum classes and guest workshops facilitated by PHonk! Creative Director & Teaching Artist Elaine Smith Holton along with Brazilian dance and drum educators and cultural bearers for participants to have a deeper connection to this cultural music and dance community.

Monthly Community Samba Class Series:Wednesdays at Headlong Dance Theater & The Painted Bride

At the end of our monthly samba series PHonk! will host Brazilian samba dance masters to assist PHonk!Philly TAs with training and teaching participants the history and culture of Brazilian dance.
