Acro Yoga with Steve Machalek and Alissa GambergAcro Yoga combines the awareness of yoga with the movement and dynamics of acrobatics into a practice that is collaborative, energetic, and fun. It is a great way to build strength, agility, flexibility, and balance while experience the freedom to play, explore, and be silly. No experience needed! No partner required, bring a friend or make some new ones!
Join us every Thursday night at Elevate Yoga Center for a fun class that will challenge you to be playful and get out of your comfort zone. Starting June 30th, this class will be at 7:30pm with optional jam time for more Acro fun after class!

Shortly after becoming a Certified Yoga Teacher, Steve Machalek tried Acro Yoga for the first time in 2014 and fell in love with it right away. Since that time, he has traveled all over the country to training with as many Acro Yoga and Acrobatics instructors as possible, and traveled to Thailand to complete his Acro Yoga teaching certification in February 2017. Through collaboration and creativity, he is constantly seeking new shapes to make and flows to execute within his Acro Yoga practice, and enjoys sharing what he learns with others. Known for his patience and calm demeanor, he thoroughly enjoys seeing the joy of his students as they grow in this practice of movement.

An accomplished performer with a background in stage and song, Alissa is a seasoned yoga teacher who was drawn to Acro Yoga by its artistic style and collaborative nature. After attending her first Acro Yoga training in 2019, she quickly became hooked and has been expanding her practice ever since. Passionate about Spanish language and culture, she completed a 200 hour yoga teacher training with Rina Jakubowicz in 2016 with a focus on teaching en Español. Caring and compassionate for her students, she goes the extra mile to make them feel comfortable and engaged in her teachings.
