WEEKEND WORKSHOP.
We are now also offering our wool bog coat workshop in a weekend time slot. Perfect for a weekend getaway!
Make your own blanket coat!
Over the two days we will take you through the process step by step.
Bring along your own blanket or purchase one from Middlemost for an extra cost of $30.
We prefer students to use their own machines and sewing kit, if available, otherwise we can set one of our loaner machines up for you, just let us know.
Threads and notions will be provided.
THE BLANKET BOG COAT
The BOG COAT is an ancient zero-waste garment constructed from a single rectangle of fabric using only three folds and a few strategic cuts, practically eliminating fabric waste. This special garment was originally interpreted from the textile remains on the preserved bodies found in peat bogs in Northern Europe dating to around the Iron Age.
When you couple this idea with the design ethos of MIDDLEMOST you have an ideal pairing of minimal fabric waste, using textiles rescued from land fill to produce a unique BLANKET BOG COAT.
Running from 10.00am to 4.00pm Saturday to Sunday 10.00am to 4.00pm.
Please note, we need at least 4 participants to run this workshop. In the event of numbers not being reached, a refund will be provided.
Anita McAdam from Studio Faro collaborating with MIDDLEMOST has developed a pattern for a well-accessorised blanket bog coat with clever finishes that you will make in this workshop.
Tickets can be purchased at www.middlemost.com.au
