About this Event
"Landscapes for Richard Mayhew" kicks off Black History Month at the Houston Museum of African American Culture (HMAAC), presented by Black Art In America. Born in 1924 in upstate New York, and recently passing at the age of 100 on September 26, 2024. Mayhew taught and promoted art at a wide variety of universities and institutions. He studied with the famed Art Students League and was a founding member of the historically renowned Spiral Group.
