For over 50 years, "W**d Day" was a beloved gathering hosted by Frances Morgan and Clara Myers on their rural Monroe County farms. It was a day filled with creativity, crafting, and camaraderie, where women from near and far came together to make dried floral arrangements, wreaths, signs, and more. At its height, over 150 participants gathered annually, making it a much-anticipated event in the community.
Join us as we rekindle the tradition, in Boone County, during a nature-inspired morning at the "Weeds & Wildflowers" workshop! Attendees will learn to craft beautiful, rustic swags & arrangements using dried and preserved natural elements. From wildflowers and grasses to pods, branches, and stems, you'll have a variety of materials to work with to bring your vision to life.
The workshop will take place on Saturday, October 5, from 10am-12pm at Annika Miller’s west Columbia studio. Start the day with a session led by nature-loving creative Kristen Bagwill, who will guide you through the basics of working with these unique materials. Afterward, you'll have the freedom to dive into a hands-on crafting session, allowing your creativity to flow.
Whether you're a seasoned DIYer or new to floral crafting, this workshop is a great way to connect with nature and bring a piece of it home!
