Wednesday Night Ottawa Euchre @ Beyond the Pale (City Centre)

The Deal

• Entry is FREE for each team! Only ONE ticket required for your team of 2.

• Each team plays four 30 minute games of euchre, each against different teams, starting at 7:00pm
• Feel free to stay at the end for our mix & mingle social hour

• Winners are determined based on number of total wins at the end of the night followed by the number of points which is used as a tie breaker - there is no prize other than bragging rights.

The Rules

1. If you order up your partner you must go alone (Canadian Loner).

2. Stick the Dealer - the dealer must call trump if the face up card is not selected as trump and all players have passed.

3. To order up, pick up, or call trump you must have at least one “natural” trump in your hand (Left Bower doesn’t count)

4. Full points are awarded past 10: if a team wins 11-7 then 11 points will be awarded. Keep this in mind as points are used as tie breakers when two teams have the same # of wins.

5. No table talk!

6. The first team to reach 10+ points or the team with the highest # of points after 30 minutes wins. If it is looking like you will not make it to 10 points by the 30 minute mark, call and agree to the "last hand" before it starts.

7. Teams not fully present 7 minutes into the game must forfeit and the opposing team will be awarded 10 points. Please make sure you agree to this (as in "yes, it's 7:38 and I just arrived so we forfeit this game") and the 10-0 score is entered in the scoresheet.

Scoring

1. Team making trump wins 3 or 4 tricks - 1 point

2. Team making trump wins 5 tricks - 2 points

3. Alone hand wins 3 or 4 tricks - 1 point

4. Alone hand wins 5 tricks - 4 points

5. Team or alone hand is euchred - opponent scores 2 points
