Wednesday Night Live: Aura Photography
About this Event
The Black Moon Co. Aura Photography Experience offers guests a unique visual representation of their energy using biofeedback technology. Each guest receives an instant, one-of-a-kind aura portrait along with a personalized interpretation of the colors captured, creating a fun and meaningful opportunity for self-reflection and connection. We will also provide guests with a handout detailing the meanings of the different aura colors. Please note, the Aura Photography Experience is first come, first served for the first 50 guests only. Additional guests can still participate in the expressive arts therapy workshop.
After receiving your aura photography reading, guests can head to the Grand Lobby for an expressive arts therapy workshop with Be Kind, Make Art. This workshop, titled “Color Mood Check-In” invites you to take the colors that appeared and give them shape. Using mixed media ephemera collage, you'll create an art piece that reflects your internal mood, and learn new ways to acknowledge and validate your inner world.
This visual expressive arts practice shows how art becomes the language when words aren't enough. You'll leave with your art piece, journal prompts for further reflection, and a take home item to keep translating your inner world through color long after the night ends.

Be Kind, Make Art
Jessie is a Nigerian-American mixed media artist and Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Charlotte, NC. Her creative range spans visual art, dance, theatre, and more. Drawing deeply from her heritage and the rich tapestry of Black culture, her work explores the intricate intersections of history, love, and mental health. Her artistic practice is informed by her therapeutic lens, allowing her to navigate complex themes with sensitivity and nuance.
Jessie founded Be Kind, Make Art inc, an expressive arts therapy nonprofit organization, built on the belief that everyone deserves accessible space to create and heal through art. BKMA has hosted workshops around Charlotte offering creative skills and therapeutic tools to externalize what words alone cannot hold. Color, texture, movement, and story used to reframe past experiences, reflect current ones, and refine future possibilities.
