March - Dancing to Slow Jazz with Ross & Galen
Join Galen and Ross for a month of dancing to jazz that is slow! Gain familiarity and comfort in dance styles built for when the tempo drops and the band slows down. This series will focus on Slow Balboa and Savoy Walk, dances that developed with big band slow jazz, allowing dancers to experience the music with elegance and ease. Galen and Ross will give you the tools and the vocabulary to comfortably dance to slow music, express rhythmic ideas through footwork, and explore familiar movements through a different lens.
Please have familiarity with swing dance rhythms and partner dance connection.
