WEDNESDAY EVENING 12+ ADVANCED/GCSE PREPARATION ART CLASS
Wednesday Evening 12+ Advanced/GCSE Preparation Art Class
7.00pm – 8.30pm
7th January – 11th February (6 Weeks)
Our art classes are open to both existing students and newcomers aged 12 and above who want to develop their creative skills and artistic confidence. In addition to our core curriculum, students in this class can also use their participation to support the Skills section of their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE).
We welcome small groups of GCSE students within the class, providing them with focused guidance while they work alongside others at a similar level. Individual support is available to help students build strong portfolios and meet coursework requirements.
A key focus of these sessions is the development of traditional drawing and painting skills—foundational techniques that are often underemphasized in today’s school art curricula. By strengthening these core skills, students build a solid base for creative expression and technical growth.
The course also nurtures each student’s natural ability, addressing both strengths and areas for improvement. A wide range of additional techniques is explored—from mark-making and mixed media to sculpture—with inspiration drawn from influential artists and creative movements.
These sessions are both exploratory and structured, helping students gain a clear sense of artistic direction and valuable preparation for further study or a future in the creative arts.
Classes limited to 18 pupils
GCSE places are fully booked for this class, please see our Saturday 12+ Advanced Classes for GCSE support.
