Originaire d’Asheville, en Caroline du Nord, Wednesday se positionne comme l’une des valeurs sûres de la scène indie rock américaine. Avec leur deuxième opus intitulé Twin Plagues, sorti en 2021, la formation menée par la charismatique Karly Hartzman propose une poignée de titres qui distillent avec brio shoegaze, grunge et southern rock. Un disque qui a obtenu la note de 7,4 de la part de Pitchfork et qui ravira les fans de Pavement, Dinosaur Jr., The Breeders, Snail Mail ou encore Soccer Mommy. Après un premier passage au Botanique en 2023, le groupe revient avec le même talent et de nouveaux morceaux à nous présenter !

Wednesday, een band uit North Carolina geleid door de generationele songwriter Karly Hartzman, heeft recent een nieuwe single op de wereld losgelaten: ‘Edlerberry Wine’. Het is een nummer over het potentieel voor de zoete dingen des levens (liefde, familie, succes) om zuur te worden als je er niet aandachtig mee omgaat.
De single is de eerste nieuwe muziek van de band sinds de release van hun debuutalbum ‘Rat Saw God’. Dat album kreeg bij het verschijnen in 2023 lovende kritieken en plaatsjes op eindejaarslijstjes van publicaties als New York Times, NPR, Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, Associated Press, Wall Street Journal, LA Times, The Atlantic, The Ringer, The FADER, Paste, Consequence of Sound, Stereogum en nog veel meer.
