Wednesday Birders: Esther Simplot Park and Boise Greenbelt

To secure a place at this event, registration is required. Please make sure ALL fields are filled out on the registration form and a confirmation email is received.

Join the Golden Eagle Audubon Society for a walk through Esther Simplot Park and the Boise Greenbelt. Esther Simplot Park is a 55-acre recreational area next to the Boise River, and is home to a variety of wetland birds and animals. The pace will be slow to allow everyone to enjoy the birds and observe any interesting behavior. We'll be on the lookout for a variety of early spring birds including chickadees, juncos, sparrows, goldfinches, and wrens, as well as ducks and waterfowl. Be prepared to walk about 2 miles on paved trails.

Birding Skill Level: All experience levels are welcome. Binoculars will be available if needed.
Age: Participants younger than 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Participants younger than 18 must have a parent/guardian sign the liability release.

Time: 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
Esther Simplot Park. We will meet at the furthest parking lot next to the restrooms. (Click on "Meeting Place" to get directions from your location.)
Trail Advisory: If trail conditions are not suitable for ethical passage, we will divert to an alternate location. Please check your email for any updates.
What to Bring: Layers for weather, closed toe shoes, binoculars, sunscreen, water, and snacks as needed. A spotting scope will be available, but please feel free to bring your own. No dogs please.
Restroom Availability: Restrooms will be available at the park.
Inclement Weather: If there is heavy snow or steady rain forecast, the trip will be cancelled. If precipitation is light or intermittent, we will proceed as scheduled.
