“And Speaking of Christmas…”

Each year, we return to the familiar stories, readings, hymns and traditions of Christmas – both for their comfort and familiarity, but also with a longing to “hear” new messages in them.

For the Midweek Advent Series at St. Andrew’s, this year, we have invited three renowned – and recently retired -- preachers to join us to offer reflections on what they have found to be some of the most essential and enduring dimensions to the Christmas stories. After having spent decades of their lives preparing, each year, to “speak of Christmas”, what would they now consider to be the most significant messages to be drawn from these ancient and well-loved texts? And how do those essential and enduring messages and themes speak to us as we draw close to “Anno Domini 2024”?
