WeCanMake: Cosy Homes Club

Fireside chats & hands-on making exploring how shared energy can make our homes, streets & 'hoods fairer & greener.
About this Event

At this month's Neighbourhood Meet-Up, WeCanMake is joined by the National Retrofit Hub for a "getting ready for winter" special....

Gather round the renewable energy campfire to share stories, ideas, and practical tools about how collective and community approaches to energy can create fairer and greener homes, streets, and neighbourhoods.

Listen in to fireside chats with folk from Knowle West, Bristol, and beyond who have good things to share, including:

• Winter is coming: practical tips for getting your home ready for winter from neighbours who’ve done it.
• Retrofit mixology: learn from our Retrofit Street demonstrator in Knowle West about what mix of biomaterial fabric improvements work best with what kind of solar, heat pump, and battery set-up.
• Connection is everything: explore how community-owned shared batteries can become neighbourhood social hubs.
• Wild Solar: discover how community-owned solar farms are rewilding our landscapes.

Warm-up with some hands-on action:

• Try out DIY draft-proofing with natural materials.
• Join Team Kettle, Team Microwave, or Team Hob in what will be a hotly contested energy use race.
• Mix your own energy elixir with foraged plants.

Share autumnal food and drink with family, neighbours, and work friends.

Family-friendly and everyone welcome.

Joining us for this event, include our friends from National Retrofit Hub, Citizen's Advice and the Centre for Sustainable Energy

This event is INDOORS and takes place at WeCanMake's Neighbourhood Factory in Knowle West.
