About this Event
The Jane Addams Hull-House Museum, Intuit: The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art, Ukrainian Institute for Modern Art (UIMA), and Balzekas Museum of Lithuanian Culture will partner through the Terra Foundation for American Art to present Weaving Stories. This is a series of community-building weaving sessions meant to connect our shared stories of heritage and culture to material practice. The first session will be held at Hull-House and will be led by Artists Liz Larue and Lourdes Guerra, both of whom have personal ties to Hull-House and have work on display at UIMA. Participants will learn how to use a hand loom and receive a kit to continue their project at home. Participants are encouraged to bring fabrics from home to contribute to a community tapestry which will travel from site to site. This series is family-friendly and free! Refreshments will be provided. This event takes place at Hull-House on September 29th from 1-4pm.
