About this Event

Join us for a gentle evening of creativity, reflection, and community as we explore the ancient art of weaving together.

For more than 30,000 years, weaving has connected people across generations. It has carried family stories, preserved traditions, and served as a way to create beauty, resilience, and belonging. Today, weaving also offers us something deeply needed; a chance to slow down, reconnect with ourselves, and find peace through the simple rhythm of creating with our hands.

Facilitated by licensed social worker Carmen, this experience is an invitation to pause from the demands of everyday life and make space for yourself. As you weave thread by thread, you'll be encouraged to reflect on your own journey, the stories you carry, and the strength that has brought you here. Sometimes the words don't come easily; but our hands often know where to begin.

Whether you're looking for a creative outlet, a moment of rest, or simply hoping to spend time in a welcoming community, this gathering is for you. No artistic experience is needed; just come as you are.

Together, we'll create, reflect, and honor the stories that connect us.

What to Expect:

  • A welcoming and supportive community space
  • A guided introduction to mindful weaving
  • Opportunities for reflection and storytelling
  • Meaningful conversation and connection
  • A handmade weaving to take home as a reminder of your journey

This workshop is open to all adults. All materials will be provided.

We can't wait to welcome you into this circle of creativity, healing, and community.

About the Facilitator:

As a licensed social worker, Carmen has spent over two decades working with children, youth, women, and families in various capacities. She has worked in roles ranging from parent coordinator to mental health provider, community organizer and founder of a non-profit that supports mothers in reconnecting with themselves while navigating motherhood. As a former teen mom she understands how crucial it is to create opportunities for those caring for others to maintain a sense of self and empower them as they navigate the many systems that impact their day-to-day lives. All her work aims to put YOU back into the equation of your own life.
