Weaving Circle (BYO project and supplies)

Calling all basket weavers, crafters, and slow makers! This monthly Weaving Circle is a free opportunity to come together to connect and create.

Please note this is not a structured workshop/class, and you need to bring your own project and supplies. Materials are not provided for you.

You don't have to be an advanced weaver to join this circle -- we all learn from each other and share skills -- but you should know a basic technique. If you do not yet know how to weave and would like to learn, there local teachers in Magandjin, along with great online courses from Craft School Oz.

The July Weaving Circle event will be held at Roma St Parklands. Registrations let your host know how many people to expect, and help her communicate where to meet on the day. A pin location is sent via email in the week prior to the event.

Our location shifts each month; if you have a suggestion please get in touch!

Monique Ross is a fibre artist who absolutely loves weaving! She has exhibited at Vacant Assembly Gallery in Brisbane, and is the 2025 Artist in Residence at the Cossack Art Awards in Western Australia. She has been teaching weaving for several years.

She is also a certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide, who trained with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy. She is the founder of Heartwood Nature Bathing.

Monique has a blue card, up-to-date certifications in Remote and Wilderness Area First Aid, and full public liability insurance. All of the appropriate permits have been secured.

Please bring all your weaving/craft supplies, and anything you would like to destash or trade with others.

You may also like to bring:

• A blanket, cushion, or chair to sit on
• A light snack to share
• An open heart
