An Ilocano Weaving Workshop
About this Event

Weaving as Ancestral Memory

Join Ilokana cultural worker and weaver, Jamie Pesquiza Cardenas and learn how to weave on a frame loom. We will spend our time together sharing stories and learning some history on the Ilokana weaving tradition called, Inabel. You can spend your time creating your own design or learn how to create the Itneg and Ilokano motif, Kusikus - which means whirlpool. This workshop also serves as a safe space for craft, community and as weaving as a somatic practice.

This event is part of the Threads of Belonging workshop series. A handwoven mural coming to Sacramento. Learn more at www.culturethroughcloth.com/threadsofbelonging.
