About this Event

Weaving a Mixed-warp Project — Serious stash busting!

A mixed warp is a great way to use up leftover yarn from previous projects. You can mix together different fibers (natural and synthetic) of various thickness including novelty and knitting yarns. While we’re cautioned not to mix yarns when weaving, it works here because of how they’re spaced.

Class starts with a 30-minute slide show and demonstration. Then weavers will learn how to evaluate their stash yarns and plan their project for a 4-shaft or rigid heddle loom.

Experience level : familiar with dressing a loom.

Materials students need to bring:

  • Stash yarns you would like to use up. (You will weave the actual project at home.) The yarn can vary from sock yarn to worsted weight; cotton, wool, and/or synthetics. Handspun yarns are also great for this.
  • A pair of scissors
  • A ruler or wraps per inch tool
  • A pencil

Please Note: There will also be a $2 materials fee for class educational materials.
