Explore the dimensional and gendered notions of weaving with Malaysian anthropologist Dr. Welyne Jeffrey Jehom, Māori weaver Karl Leonard and Palestinian dress historian Wafa Ghnaim.
From the intricacies of motif designs to methodologies and cultural revivals, the panel will discuss the plurality of feminisms and ancestral knowledges, critically analysing how such practices continue to transmit across generations. Beyond serving as decorative handwoven textiles, how do these materials mediate, and what do they reveal about the resilience and identities of the communities that made them?
