Weave a Market or Berry Basket – September 18

Skill Level: Some basket weaving experience is preferred but not required
In this hands-on workshop, students will learn basic spoke-and-weave basketry as they create their own market or berry basket. All necessary tools, mold, cane, and reed will be provided, and you’ll choose from a variety of colored weaving materials to personalize your piece. Your instructor will guide you step by step through material preparation, measuring, marking, upstaking, start-stop weaving, simple rims, and lashing, then help you shape and finish your basket while discussing additional finishing techniques. No prior basket-making experience is necessary, though it is helpful. At the end of the class, you’ll take home your completed basket.
